Manufacturing location & U.S. legal status

MyGradStoles designs, markets, and sells its products through the United States. Our manufacturing operations are based in India. All consumer-facing obligations — including returns, warranties, pricing disclosures, and consumer rights — are governed by U.S. and Canadian law, and HRV Enterprises INC LLC, as the U.S.-registered seller of record, is the entity responsible for fulfilling those obligations to every U.S. and Canadian customer.

Section 02

Products Sold & Business Model

MyGradStoles is an online-only retail and manufacturing business. We do not operate a physical retail storefront. All transactions take place exclusively through mygradstoles.com. Every product category is clearly described below so that customers know exactly what they are purchasing before checkout.

Custom Graduation Stoles

Personalized stoles made to order using embroidery or DTF (direct-to-film) printing. Each stole is built to a customer's specific design — name, graduation year, school, crest, Greek letters, colors, and layout — and requires a digital proof approval before production begins. These items are not pre-made stock and cannot be resold once manufactured to a customer's specification.

View Custom Graduation Stoles →

Religious Stoles

Baptism and choir stoles may include personalized names, dates, denominational text, scripture references, ministry or church names, and religious symbols. Because these items frequently carry doctrinal significance, we take special care to confirm text accuracy before production. Custom text on religious stoles is subject to the same proof-approval process as graduation stoles.

View Religious Stoles →

Blank Graduation Stoles

Off-the-shelf, undecorated stoles sold without any embroidery, printing, or personalization. These are standard stock merchandise available in multiple colors and are covered by our standard Returns & Refund Policy rather than made-to-order custom-order rules. Customers who add any personalization element to a blank stole immediately bring the order within the scope of our Custom Order Policy.

View Blank Graduation Stoles →

Shop-by-Color & Honor Stoles

Color-specific product listings (black, blue, gold, maroon, purple, and other colorways) are variations of the graduation and honor stole lines. When purchased as-is without personalization they are treated as stock merchandise. When any name, text, emblem, or custom element is added, the full custom-order terms apply. Browse all colorways at our Shop by Color collection.

We are a seller, not a marketplace

MyGradStoles is the direct seller and manufacturer of all products listed on mygradstoles.com. We do not operate as a third-party marketplace. Every order is a direct contract between the customer and HRV Enterprises INC LLC. There are no third-party sellers or resellers on this website.

Section 03

Geographic Scope & Shipping Territory

MyGradStoles currently ships exclusively to customers located in the United States (all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories where carrier service permits) and Canada (all 10 provinces and all 3 territories). We do not ship internationally outside these two countries at this time.

United States

  • All 3 territories: Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon
  • Additional duties, import fees, or GST/HST/QST may apply for Canadian orders — these are the customer's responsibility unless otherwise stated at checkout
Shipping details, rates, and delivery estimates

Full shipping information — including available shipping speeds (Express, Standard, Economy), carrier partners, transit time estimates, and our policies for lost or damaged shipments — is published in our dedicated Shipping Policy. Delivery timelines for custom orders begin after your digital proof is approved, not from the order date.

Intellectual Property Rights

All content, materials, and assets published on mygradstoles.com are either owned by HRV Enterprises INC LLC, licensed to us by their respective rights-holders, or used under a recognized legal exception such as fair use or public domain. Nothing on this website may be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without prior written permission from HRV Enterprises INC LLC.

Original Content

Our product photography, website copy, design layouts, blog articles, marketing materials, and all other original text created by our team are protected under the U.S. Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 101 et seq.) and, for Canadian customers, Canada's Copyright Act (R.S.C. 1985, c. C-42). Unauthorized reproduction is prohibited.

Third-Party Content

School crests, university logos, Greek organization letters, fraternity/sorority insignia, and denominational religious imagery submitted by customers for custom orders remain the intellectual property of their respective owners. MyGradStoles reproduces such content solely as a manufacturing service per the customer's instruction and does not claim ownership of third-party marks.

Customer-Submitted Artwork

By submitting artwork, logos, or design files to MyGradStoles, you confirm that you hold the necessary rights or authorizations to reproduce that artwork on a physical product. You grant MyGradStoles a limited, non-exclusive license to use that artwork solely for the purpose of manufacturing your order. We do not store or resell customer-submitted artwork.

DMCA Notice & Takedown

If you believe that any content on mygradstoles.com infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notice to HRV Enterprises INC LLC in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). Send your notice to contact@mygradstoles.com with your name, contact information, description of the allegedly infringing content, and a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized. We will respond promptly and take appropriate action.

Section 05

Trademarks & Service Marks

The name MyGradStoles, the MyGradStoles logo, and all associated product and service names used on this website are trademarks or service marks of HRV Enterprises INC LLC. Use of these marks — in any commercial context, for resale, or in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation — without our prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

Third-party marks on custom products

Where customers request embroidery or printing of a school seal, Greek organization letters, religious denomination symbol, or other institutional mark, MyGradStoles acts solely as a manufacturer reproducing the customer's design. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by any university, Greek national organization, religious body, or other institution whose marks may appear on customer-ordered stoles, unless a formal licensing agreement exists. All rights in those marks remain with their respective owners. Customers bear responsibility for ensuring they have the authority to reproduce any third-party mark they submit for production — see our Custom Order Policy, Section 11.

Section 07

Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance

Graduation stoles, religious stoles, and blank stoles sold by MyGradStoles are textile apparel items. They are not toys, food products, electrical goods, or articles subject to specialized industry-specific federal licensing. Nonetheless, our products are manufactured and sold in compliance with all applicable U.S. federal consumer product safety regulations and, for Canadian customers, Health Canada's regulatory framework.

The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (15 U.S.C. § 2051 et seq.) and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) set mandatory safety standards for consumer products sold in the United States. Our stoles are garment/textile accessories for adult use (graduation and ceremonial wear), and as such fall primarily under general textile regulatory requirements rather than the toy or children's-product standards that impose the most stringent CPSIA testing requirements. We ensure our manufacturing partners use materials that comply with applicable federal textile and chemical safety standards.
Under the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act (15 U.S.C. § 70 et seq.) and FTC regulations (16 C.F.R. Part 303), textile products sold in the United States must accurately disclose fiber content. Our stoles are manufactured in compliance with these fiber content labeling requirements. The FTC's Care Labeling Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 423) also requires that textile garments carry proper care instructions. Our products include appropriate care labeling indicating recommended cleaning methods (typically dry clean or gentle hand wash, depending on fabric). Contact us if you need care information for a specific product before purchasing.
The Flammable Fabrics Act (15 U.S.C. § 1191 et seq.) and its implementing regulations (16 C.F.R. Part 1610) set minimum flammability standards for clothing textiles sold in the United States. Our garment accessories are manufactured to comply with applicable CPSC flammability standards. We do not sell children's sleepwear or other specialized high-risk categories subject to enhanced flammability requirements.
For Canadian customers, the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (S.C. 2010, c. 21) and Health Canada's consumer product safety regulations govern the standards applicable to textile accessories sold in Canada. Our products are manufactured to meet applicable Health Canada standards for textile goods. Canadian customers who have product safety concerns about any item received may contact Health Canada or reach us directly at contact@mygradstoles.com.
California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65; Cal. Health & Safety Code § 25249.5 et seq.) requires businesses with 10 or more employees that sell into California to provide a clear and reasonable warning before knowingly and intentionally exposing consumers to chemicals listed as known to cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm. Our textile accessories are produced using materials and dyes intended to meet general industry standards, and we are not aware of any Proposition 65 listed chemicals in our products that would trigger a mandatory warning. If you have concerns, please contact us before ordering and we will provide available material safety information.
Product safety concerns — what to do

If you believe you have received a product that poses a safety hazard, do not use it. Contact us immediately at contact@mygradstoles.com or +1 (361) 228-4910 with your order number and a description of the concern. You may also report safety issues directly to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission at SaferProducts.gov or, for Canadian customers, to Health Canada at canada.ca/health-canada.

Section 08

Pricing, Tax & Fees Disclosure

We believe every customer has the right to know the full cost of their purchase before committing to buy. The following disclosures fulfill our obligations under U.S. federal FTC regulations and applicable state and provincial consumer protection law regarding price transparency for online retail.

What we always disclose before checkout

  • Base product price (in U.S. Dollars, USD)
  • Any personalization or embroidery fee applicable to your specific order
  • Rush production fees (if you select that option)
  • Shipping and handling costs, broken down by method selected
  • Applicable state, county, or provincial sales tax calculated on your shipping address
  • Full order total before you click "Place Order"

What we never do

  • Add fees after checkout without your written consent
  • Advertise a price and charge a different, higher price at checkout (no bait-and-switch)
  • Use drip pricing to reveal mandatory costs late in the checkout flow
  • Use fake strikethrough prices or fabricated "retail" comparisons
  • Charge a customer's payment method more than once for a single order without your explicit authorization
Sales tax for U.S. customers

Following the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc. (2018), online retailers are required to collect and remit sales tax in any U.S. state where they meet that state's economic nexus threshold, regardless of physical presence. We collect sales tax where required by applicable state law. Your applicable tax rate is calculated automatically at checkout based on your delivery address and is shown to you before you complete your purchase.

Canadian duties, GST/HST/QST

Canadian customers may be subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST), Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), Québec Sales Tax (QST), or Provincial Sales Tax (PST) depending on their province of delivery, as well as applicable Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) import duties. These amounts, where applicable, may be collected at checkout or billed by the carrier upon delivery. We display any amounts we are required to collect as part of your order total before you complete your purchase.

Section 09

Warranty & Disclaimer of Warranties

We stand behind the quality of every stole we produce. This section explains what we promise, what the law requires us to deliver, and what we do not promise.

Implied warranty of merchantability — always applies

Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 2301–2312), the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC Article 2 as adopted by each U.S. state), and equivalent Canadian provincial laws, every stole we sell carries an implied warranty of merchantability. This means each stole must be reasonably fit for its ordinary purpose (wearing as a graduation or ceremonial garment), must conform to the description and digital proof you approved, and must be free from material manufacturing defects. This warranty cannot be waived or disclaimed.

No warranty is made for customer-caused defects

We do not warrant against defects resulting from: (a) incorrect or incomplete information submitted by the customer at the time of order; (b) customer-approved errors in the digital proof; (c) misuse, improper care, unauthorized alteration, or failure to follow care instructions after delivery; or (d) normal wear and fading consistent with the product's materials and intended use. Our explicit liability for manufacturing errors is set out in our Returns & Refund Policy and the Custom Order Policy.

Website content — no warranty of accuracy

While we make every effort to keep product descriptions, pricing, and policies accurate, mygradstoles.com is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind with respect to non-product content (such as informational articles, blog posts, or color swatch representations on screen). Screen color rendering varies by device and monitor calibration, and fabric colors in delivered products may differ slightly from on-screen representations. If color accuracy is critical to your order, we strongly recommend requesting a physical sample before placing a large custom order.

Section 10

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HRV Enterprises INC LLC's liability to any customer arising from a product order shall be limited to the remedies described below. Nothing in this section removes or limits any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your state or province.

Some U.S. states and Canadian provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain implied warranties or of incidental/consequential damages for consumer transactions. Where such limitations are prohibited by your state or province's mandatory consumer protection law, those exclusions will not apply to you, and your statutory rights will remain intact.

Section 11

Privacy & Data Notice

When you place an order or interact with mygradstoles.com, we collect certain personal information — your name, shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment information — to process and fulfill your order. We collect only the information we need, we protect it with appropriate security measures, and we do not sell your personal data to third parties.

U.S. Privacy Law

Our data practices comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) — which grants California residents the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal data — and with applicable data privacy requirements in other states that have enacted comprehensive consumer privacy laws (e.g., Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and others). Our full Privacy Policy details your rights and how to exercise them.

Canadian Privacy Law

We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, with provincial privacy legislation such as Alberta's PIPA, British Columbia's PIPA, and Québec's Law 25 (Law Modernizing Privacy-Sector Privacy Legislation, effective September 2023). Canadian customers have the right to access and correct their personal information and to request deletion where permitted by law.

Communications

Order confirmations, digital proof emails, shipping notifications, and other transactional messages are sent as part of your order and do not require separate marketing consent. Any promotional or marketing email campaigns are sent only with your consent where required by law, including Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and always include a clear unsubscribe option. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Our complete and authoritative data privacy statement — including how we use cookies, how data is stored and secured, your rights requests process, and our data retention schedule — is published in our Privacy Policy. That document is the controlling statement of our privacy practices and governs your rights as a data subject in all privacy matters.

Accessibility Statement

HRV Enterprises INC LLC is committed to making mygradstoles.com accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Our accessibility commitments

  • Meaningful alt text on product and decorative images
  • Sufficient color contrast between text and background on all pages
  • Keyboard-navigable menus, forms, and interactive elements
  • Respect for the "prefers-reduced-motion" browser/OS setting — animations are suppressed for users who have requested reduced motion
  • Descriptive link text so screen-reader users can understand the purpose of each link

Legal framework

In the United States, web accessibility for places of public accommodation (including e-commerce websites) is addressed by Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (42 U.S.C. § 12101 et seq.) and the U.S. Department of Justice's implementing guidance. In Canada, the Accessible Canada Act (ACA) (S.C. 2019, c. 10) sets federal accessibility standards for federally regulated entities; provincially, Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and equivalent provincial legislation set standards for businesses operating in those provinces.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website, please contact us at contact@mygradstoles.com and we will do our best to provide the information or functionality you need through an alternative channel.

Section 14

U.S. Federal Legal Compliance

MyGradStoles operates in full compliance with applicable United States federal law governing online retail, consumer protection, product labeling, and e-commerce practices. The key federal statutes that govern our operations are listed below.

Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce. All of our advertising, product descriptions, promotional claims, and policy statements are designed to be accurate, clear, and non-misleading. We do not make performance claims we cannot substantiate, do not engage in deceptive pricing, and do not use endorsements or testimonials in a misleading manner. Our pricing and returns disclosures throughout this website are designed to satisfy the FTC's standards for clear and conspicuous disclosure.
This FTC rule requires that we ship orders within the time we state (or within 30 days if no time is stated), and that we promptly notify customers if a shipment will be delayed, giving them the option to consent to a delay or to cancel for a full refund. Our production and shipping timelines — set out in the Custom Order Policy and Shipping Policy — fulfill this obligation. For custom orders, the production clock starts after your digital proof is approved, a fact we clearly communicate at checkout and in our proofing emails.
The FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials require that customer reviews and endorsements reflect genuine experiences and that any material connection between a reviewer and the business be clearly disclosed. Any customer reviews displayed on mygradstoles.com or our social media channels are genuine. If any review is provided in connection with a free product, discount, or other incentive, that relationship is disclosed clearly. We do not suppress, fabricate, or purchase reviews.
The CAN-SPAM Act sets requirements for commercial email messages, including: accurate "From" and subject-line information; identification of the message as an advertisement where applicable; inclusion of our physical mailing address (1105 W Cottonwood Ln, Apt 15F, Mount Prospect, IL 60056); and a clear, functioning opt-out mechanism for every marketing email. Transactional emails (order confirmations, proof emails, shipping notifications) are exempt from CAN-SPAM's opt-in requirements but still meet the act's identification standards. All marketing emails include an unsubscribe link that is honored within 10 business days of request.
The E-SIGN Act establishes that electronic signatures and records have the same legal standing as written signatures and paper records in interstate commerce. Your digital approval of a proof — by email reply or other electronic confirmation — constitutes a legally binding authorization to manufacture your order and has the same effect as a written signature under U.S. federal and state law.
Every U.S. state has adopted Article 2 of the Uniform Commercial Code governing the sale of goods. UCC Article 2 establishes: the implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose; the rule that specially manufactured goods (which cannot be resold in the ordinary course of business) are treated differently from standard retail goods once manufacturing has begun; and the buyer's right to inspect and reject goods that do not conform to the contract. Our Custom Order Policy and Returns & Refund Policy are written to comply with UCC Article 2 requirements across all 50 states.
COPPA prohibits the collection of personal information from children under age 13 without verifiable parental consent. mygradstoles.com is not directed to children under 13, does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and does not permit children under 13 to create accounts or place orders without parental supervision. If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will promptly delete that information. Contact us at contact@mygradstoles.com if you believe a child's information has been collected in error.
We process all credit and debit card payments through PCI-DSS-compliant payment processors. We do not store full card numbers, CVV codes, or other sensitive payment data on our own servers. Payment data is handled entirely by our third-party payment partners, whose compliance with PCI-DSS standards is certified separately. All data transmitted between your browser and our website is encrypted using industry-standard TLS (Transport Layer Security) protocols.
Section 15

U.S. State-by-State Consumer Protection & Legal Reference

Every U.S. state and the District of Columbia maintains its own consumer protection statute (commonly called a "UDAP" law — Unfair or Deceptive Acts and Practices) in addition to federal law. These state laws protect you against deceptive advertising, hidden fees, and product misrepresentation. Our practices are designed to comply with the most protective of these laws across all jurisdictions we serve. Use the search box below to find your state.

State / TerritoryGoverning Consumer Protection StatuteNotable Custom-Order & Online Retail Provisions

This table is provided for transparency and general information only. It is not legal advice. State laws are regularly amended; consult your state attorney general's office or a licensed attorney in your state for current, authoritative legal guidance.

Section 16

Canadian Federal Legal Compliance

Canadian customers are protected by both federal law and the consumer protection legislation of their own province or territory. HRV Enterprises INC LLC honors both layers of legal protection for every Canadian order.

Canada's Competition Act prohibits false or misleading advertising, deceptive telemarketing, pyramid schemes, and other unfair competitive practices. Part VI of the Act (criminal provisions) and Part VII.1 (civil reviewable matters) both apply to cross-border sellers marketing to Canadian consumers. Our pricing, product descriptions, and promotional materials are designed to be accurate, non-deceptive, and compliant with the Competition Bureau of Canada's guidance on honest advertising.
CASL governs the sending of commercial electronic messages (CEMs) to Canadian recipients. Transactional messages related to your order — including proof emails, order confirmations, and shipping notifications — are sent pursuant to CASL's implied consent exception for messages that facilitate a commercial transaction the recipient has initiated. Any separate promotional or marketing emails to Canadian customers are sent only on the basis of express consent, and every such message contains: identification of HRV Enterprises INC LLC as the sender, our full contact information, and a working unsubscribe mechanism honored within 10 business days.
PIPEDA establishes rules for how private-sector organizations collect, use, and disclose personal information in the course of commercial activity involving individuals in Canada. We collect only the personal information necessary to process and ship your order, obtain your consent where required, protect information with appropriate safeguards, and provide customers the right to access and correct their personal information. Canadian customers in Alberta, British Columbia, and Québec are additionally protected by substantially similar provincial privacy laws that may apply instead of or alongside PIPEDA.
The CCPSA prohibits the manufacture, importation, advertisement, and sale of consumer products that are a danger to human health or safety. Our stoles are textile accessories manufactured to comply with applicable product safety standards. We do not manufacture or import products that we have reason to believe pose a health or safety risk. If we became aware of a safety incident involving one of our products, we would notify Health Canada promptly and take all required corrective action.
Québec's Consumer Protection Act imposes specific requirements on distance contracts entered into via the internet, including: disclosure of the total price including all charges, estimated delivery date, and cancellation rights before the consumer is bound. Québec's Charter of the French Language additionally requires that businesses offering products or services to Québec consumers make commercial documentation available in French upon request. Québec customers may request key policy documents, invoices, or correspondence in French by contacting contact@mygradstoles.com. Customers in Québec have the right to receive their proof emails in French if requested.
Most Canadian provinces have adopted electronic commerce legislation modeled on the Uniform Electronic Commerce Act (UECA), which gives electronic contracts, signatures, and records the same legal effect as paper-based equivalents. Your email approval of a digital proof constitutes a legally binding electronic signature under applicable provincial electronic commerce law, authorizing production of your custom order — the same principle that applies under the U.S. E-SIGN Act for American customers.
Section 17

Canada Province & Territory Consumer Protection Reference

Each Canadian province and territory maintains its own consumer protection statute. These laws generally require honest pricing and delivery disclosure for internet sales, and most explicitly recognize custom-made or special-order goods as exceptions to general distance-sale cancellation rights once the seller has begun performance — which, for us, means once you have approved your digital proof and production has started.

These Legal Notices and all transactions between you and HRV Enterprises INC LLC are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions — except where a mandatory consumer protection law in your own state or province requires application of local law, in which case the more protective provision applies to your specific rights as a consumer. Our Terms & Conditions contain the full governing-law clause applicable to your use of our website and purchase of our products.

Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint or dispute about a product or order, please contact us first — directly and informally — at contact@mygradstoles.com or +1 (361) 228-4910. We aim to resolve every complaint within 1–3 business days. If an informal resolution cannot be reached, our Terms & Conditions set out the formal dispute process, including any applicable arbitration or jurisdiction provisions. Nothing in this Legal Notice prevents you from filing a complaint with your state's attorney general, the FTC, the BBB, or (for Canadian customers) your provincial consumer affairs office.

Consumer regulatory contacts

U.S. customers may contact the Federal Trade Commission at ReportFraud.ftc.gov or the Better Business Bureau at bbb.org. Illinois residents may contact the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division at illinoisattorneygeneral.gov. Canadian customers may contact the Competition Bureau of Canada at competitionbureau.gc.ca or their provincial consumer affairs office.

Changes to This Legal Notice

We may update this Legal Notice from time to time to reflect changes in applicable law, our business practices, or regulatory guidance. Changes to this Legal Notice do not apply retroactively to orders placed before the revision date. The version of this Notice in effect at the time you placed your order governs the terms applicable to that order. We encourage you to review this page periodically so you are aware of any changes.
